Carpet cleaning might be something that you do not think much about, but you should. You can not hire just any cleaner in the phone book. Carpet cleaning is an industry that is easy to get in to. Therefore, it is full of many companies that quite frankly are just not any good. So how do you avoid choosing one of these poor carpet cleaners. Here are some things to avoid.

• Companies without insurance.
  Any carpet and upholstery cleaning company that does not have insurance is one that you should not deal with. You want to know that you are protected in case something happens to your home. Business insurance is inexpensive so every company should have it. If they don’t, they are cutting corners. What other corners are they cutting?
• Companies with many complaints.
  Look in the Internet for reviews or call the Better Business Bureau. It is possible that good companies might have had complaints against them. It is how they handle the complaints that matters. You want a company that stands behind their works and will resolve, not ignore issues.
• Cleaning companies who are unprofessional.
  This is easy to see. How do they answer their phone? Do they do it in a professional matter with their company name and a greeting or do they simply answer “carpet cleaning.” If that is the case, think about why a company would answer the phone simply “carpet cleaning.” Many do that because they operate under several names or change their name often to escape complaints. Be wary.
